Class IV use rails & posts, treated northern red pine with a smooth planed finish suitable for water and ground contact. During installation, we recommend that posts be concreted approximately one-third of their total length, with gravel placed at the base of the hole to allow water to drain.

Class 4 treatment involves impregnating the pine post with an ecological preservative product certified CTB-B+, using autoclaving, vacuum, and pressure. The objective of the class IV treatment is to make the wood impervious to biological attacks (fungi, insects, termites) and unfavourable climatic conditions (humidity, frost, sun). It is ideal for outdoor use, in direct contact with the ground or water, and is characterised by a distinct green tint in the wood, which will fade over time.
